Want-It Wednesday: It's Been Awhile!

It has been so long since I've done a want-it Wednesday, but I am super pumped to finally get going with this again!

This week, I am searching high and low for a pair of super cute and comfy gray boots. I consider boots to be a fall/winter necessity, and I don't have any gray ones, so I can justify needing them (ha!) Because I am so short, I am also looking for something with a bit of a heel, but that I could easily wear all day. I'm not sure that this is actually possible, but here are a few that I have seen that I think are cute:

Guess Who Has Internet!

Back in Action! OOTD From Last Week

So I took photos of a random outfit last week, mostly trying to figure out a place in my apartment that I can snap some good pictures of myself. As you can see in the second photo, I figured out a spot that will shoot my entire body but is not the best background...fruit snacks anyone? hehe :) And it is not as close-up as I would like...but we're getting there. Here are some photos of a cute little cami that I got last winter and just wore for the first time last week with a short sleeved black cardigan...layering is my fall BFF.

Tired of Using Technology!

Hello friends!
I know I keep promising more updates- and believe me- I really WANT to be updating. However, I have not had working Internet at my apartment for 8 days now and I am becoming extremely frustrated! Supposedly the repair people are going to be coming to fix it tomorrow, and hopefully soon thereafter I will be posting like crazy (I am currently on my work computer- but don't worry...the kids are long gone for the day!!!)
Anyway- I hope to be back to my regularly scheduled programming shortly.
And MAN, I am going to have a ton of reading to do! :)

Photographer Wanted

So I am trying, very hard, to get outfit pictures for you all....but I am really struggling with this whole not-having-a-photographer thing. I just can't seem to find a good place to set my camera that will show my entire outfit and still look close-up enough to show detail. Plus with the flash I end up looking super creepy (see the 2nd photo below...ha!) Anyway, I wore this outfit today because I needed something that would be comfy enough to work in my classroom and dressy enough that I felt like I looked somewhat professional/cute.

School starts on Wednesday! Agh! I am SO not ready at ALL. Such is life. I am super excited to meet my new kids, though. And to see my class from last year. Awww. I also start my classes for grad school on Wednesday, which I am also super excited about! (Please forgive my dorky-ness...)

Birthday Dress

Hello my loves!!! My poor blog has been neglected for the past few weeks because life has been CRAZY busy! I need to catch up on my reading as well- I miss you all! I am STILL working on finding a place for everything in my new apartment...still adjusting to life as a single lady...and now working on setting up my new classroom seeing as my new students will be arriving one week from tomorrow! Life is truly hectic right now, but I am going to try to keep up with blogging as much as possible.


Anyway, here is a photo of the dress that I wore on my birthday. I went to brunch with some friends, dinner with my family, and just spent the day in my hometown. The photos I took are not very good because since I now live alone, I no longer have a photographer! For those of you who take your own pics- how do you do it? I can't seem to get any good ones! Either they are not at a good angle to show my outfit or they look grainy. Any suggestions on how I can make them better?

Ridin' Solo

Ok so I am all moved in to my new apartment. It is quite cozy and so far I am really enjoying it. I still have lots of unpacking to do, but that will come with time. Thanks again for all of your encouraging words. I feel like I'm venturing out into a new world and although it might be difficult, I am looking forward to what lies ahead. I'm ridin' solo!

Today the BFF and I went to a few local teacher stores to buy some fun motivational posters to decorate her new office with (she's a school counselor.) I decided that since I've been dressing frumpy and yucky lately due to the packing and moving process, I wanted to wear something cute today. The background in these photos is funny because I just stood in front of the door...clearly I haven't found a good photo spot yet. I also felt a little odd having my BFF take pictures of me so I just had her take them as we were about to leave...sans shoes and all. Ha :) Oh...and don't worry, I did not wear the shoes you can see in the picture...haha
