Easy Like Sunday Morning

On Sundays, I usually spend the day relaxing (which to me means shopping or sitting at home.) I don't like to do a whole lot more to get ready besides throwing on jeans and a t-shirt. However, I still want to look cute and at least somewhat presentable. Enter any stripey tee. Now I know, big girls aren't supposed to wear stripes, right? wrongwrongWRONG! I love stripes, and honestly, I find them to actually be quite flattering!! You can wear stripes these days with just about anything, and in a fitted t-shirt form, it is effortless to just throw on and go, but still looks cute.

New Car!

Hello friends!
I apologize for my mini blogging hiatus over the past week. I've actually been super busy and in the process of buying a new car, which I finally did this week! I also got to spend a little quality time with the BFF this week and tonight I will be going out of town for my brother's going away party (he's moving to Alabama.) So SUNDAY will be the day for a real post...with many pictures, I'm sure!

Just Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore

Hello lovelies! I just got this tee from avenue...and I have had this idea of wearing it with a high-waisted black skirt ever since I first saw it a month or two ago. It kind of looks like a dress, no? So I came up with two ways of wearing it, one more casual and one more dressy.

How would you wear this tee? Any other ideas?

While I was creating that first polyvore set (and please bare with me, I'm not that great at them), I decided to play around with the LC jacket I mentioned in my last post, and I have decided that despite a lack of funding, I need it. Because, well, this outfit is just too perfect to not buy it.

AH. The shoes here are from the new Cynthia Vincent for target line...and they are pretty much a frugal shopoholic's dream. LOVE. I added in the pearly bow earrings to give this military style a little touch of girly cutsey-ness, which I need in any outfit. And the bag was just one that I saw at Target in the Hollywood Intuition line that I liked. How would you style this jacket? If I'm going to buy it I need some more ideas! :)

So this is how I spent my Friday night. Catching up on sleep from this crazy week, making polyvore sets, and listening to my iPod. I am too cool dorky.

Want-It Wednesday

Tonight I was at Kohl's, still on the hunt for the perfect pair of sandals, when I came across this little beauty from the LC Lauren Conrad line:

It was marked down to $38 from $60, but unfortunately funding is not possible right now and I could not bring myself to buy a jacket when spring is quickly turning into summer.
But still. SO cute, right? And the XL fit me (for the most part...I could make it work haha.)

Lucky Inspiration...Day Two!?!?

So, I am very proud of myself for once again using Lucky mag's April month of outfits inspiration calendar. This look is called New School Preppy. While I don't think I actually captured the essence of "preppy" per say, I had a lot of fun using items that I already had in my closet trying to piece together a similar look...and let me tell you, it was not easy. And yes I'm wearing white...fashion rules, shmashion rules. :) Anyway, I'm not exactly sure how I feel about all these pieces together, but I guess I'm doing better than my hoodie and jeans days back in college.

This dress combines three of my favorite things ever: floral print, zippers, and denim (or at least the look of denim.) I found it at Target back in February when I discovered the Pure Energy line. They've got a lot of super cute stuff right now for summer. If you haven't checked this stuff out yet, you need to. You will not be disappointed!

Why Hello Random Outfits!

So I felt like making a post about a few outfits I have worn recently...

Today I ventured out to Target with a friend from work so she could look for some capris...and of course, I did not come home empty-handed. I found the most simple, but beautiful, casual blue dress and long black leggings for a total of $21.

Sorry for the bra shot...it is very low cut, but I think it is going to look adorable with a white lace cami. I loveloveLOVE the sleeves too. I'm very self-conscious about my arms and they cover very nicely. And because of the cut of the dress, I can't decide if I like it better with or without a belt. But I am for sure in love with these full-length leggings. Me-ow!

This outfit was inspired by Lucky mag's April month of outfits calendar. I think it's called Laid-Back Nautical. I did it slightly different with leggings instead of loose pants, but I still like it. BBM has been ROCKING these outfits all month, so she inspired me to give it a shot as well!

And of course I can't take a serious photo I have to make awkward goofy faces.

This is the dress I bought a few weeks ago at NY&CO...The same one the BFF got in blue. I also got a black rosette belt to go around the waist, but I was just messing around here, this is not how I would actually style it...well...I would definitely also wear the shrug I got to go with it, again because of my arm issue.

And PS...these booties are amazing and if you don't have some, you need some. Especially because right now (with the code from my last post) you can get them for around $8. Do it!
